The heart of Ua Hawaii began nearly 30 years ago with founder Leala’s mother, Alice, who handcrafted natural skincare products using rare blossoms and locally inspired ingredients gathered around their Hawaiian home. What started as a personal act of care for family, friends, and community eventually became the foundation of the brand we know today. After Alice’s passing, her legacy continued through Ua Hawaii — preserving her recipes, values, and love for the islands through modern bodycare rituals.
Meaning “rain” in Hawaiian, “Ua” symbolizes nourishment, renewal, and the powerful connection between nature and wellbeing. This philosophy guides everything we do. We believe beauty should feel intentional, gentle, and deeply connected to the earth. Our lotions, perfumes, body mists, and self-care collections are created not only to nourish the skin, but also to create meaningful sensory experiences inspired by island living.
